Figured I’d share this little secret. This here is a de-nibbing system. When you want
To get those pesky dirt nibs flattened out…this is the hot set up. it’s done dry….and those little squares of 800 grit paper ( yellow) …stick to the special haahd rubbah block. It cuts them down quick….then follow with the pink 1500 paper …and buff..

As the paper fills up with white dust …just give it a swipe on your pants to clear it up.. This paper goes a long way. Works awesome on sags too. But most of you guys do a cut and buff anyways…so all you need is that first step of 800 grit to flatten that dirt nib….then use what your use to, after that.

Cost up here..is 41.00 per box. You get 200 little squares per box ….so that’s about .20 cents per square. …For me fixing new orange peel cars….I hit the nibs with the 800…then the 1500…then buff. The compound I use ,gets that polished up in 2 passes….love it !

Good tip. I’ve used their Tolecut, Assilex and Bufflex system for some time now. Made in Japan to super tight tolerances.
If you contact Tiffany Smith from eagleguys.com (a distributor) you should be able to get a sample pack sent to you for free. That’s how I first got into them.
Tell us more about your compound. Wizards?

Ya those things are awesome. They also have a rounded hard block that comes in handy on curved surfaces.

I’ve tried a lot of compounds ovah my career.....starting in the 70’s. Can’t say I’ve seen them all....but seen a lot. This system is buy far the best to date. It has NO FILLERS....and what that means is....after the car that you buffed goes out the door...customer washes it a few times....and then brings it back ,cuz he’s seeing sanding scratches in the paint. This system is what you see..is what you got period.

Thats something I noticed happening recently is that there were light scratches appearing on a panel that I cut and buffed. I knew for a fact that I wouldn't let a sanding scratch get past my QC as my paint jobs are mirror finished.

I'll be looking into this system, thanks.

That’s all yah need...on their wool pad..to do a 2x3 foot section. It has a built in lubricant.....so the panel doesn’t heat up. Plus you can not buff this to a shine ...because of the lubricant and no fillers. After you make a pass...wipe clean with micro fiber towel....then give it another 4 dots and buff....Wipe ....and take a look at the panel...you may want a 3 rd pass maybe not...then onto the polish with the foam pad on a DA ....or your oscillating buffer....then the final step polish with a clean foam pad on the DA/ Oscillating buffer. A next level shine for sure. Works for me....and that’s all that matters....lol

Do you prefer the big rectangular rubber block or one of the shaped ones?

I need to find a local supplier for that compound, I'm getting tired of 3M.
