Default Location for Hood Emblem on a 64

Hi Everyone -- My 64 GTO came without a hood and I ended with the steel reproduction (which is very nice). The new hood doesn't have the holes for the front arrowhead.

Does anyone out there have a template?

Thanks.

Inner structure may have the cut-outs for the pal nuts.

Thanks - I didn't think of that. It probably does but I'll have to check.

That would be great. I won’t be needing them for a week or so. Thanks for the help.

There is no provision on OEM '64 GTO hoods for PAL nuts. the emblem is secured by sleeves over the two studs on the emblem.

I used a piece of masking tape on the hood, marked the spots where holes are and then took off and measured. 7.5 for first hole and 9.5 for second hole.

Hope this helps. the hood latch / secondary catch support is underneath of the pins.

Lemans64: Excellent -- Thank you very much for the help. That is exactly the way I planned to measure it and lay it out.

And thanks to everyone for their comment/help on this.

That is a clever way to measure it. I use my wife's cloth measuring tape for that sort of thing. She uses it for sewing.
