Realistic 60 foot times and traction from 3400 pound A body?
Hey everybody,
What is a realistic 60 foot time and traction available from a 3400 pound A body with QA one Coil over adjustable Front Bolt in suspension and full length adjustable traction Bars and a Mickey Thompson 28 x 10.5W bias slick? I just want to get idea of how far I can go and what my expectations could be. Thanks again, Craig |

What is the cars weight distribution like with you and 1/2 a tank of fuel in it?

It doesn't take much to get the 68-72 A-body suspension the work. I know little about them but have a friend that runs high 8's with a car that just has "bolt ons". His car is around the same weight as yours.
Maybe a better way the phrase your question would be "what 60ft times should I expect from my combination". I've found weight, gear and converter to have a the most influence on 60 ft times along with available power. Shocks seem to be the biggest players when it comes to suspension tuning. |

My car weighs 3500 lbs. I have factory suspension with Viking double adjustable shocks up front and Strange double adjustable rear shocks. I run a 30x9 radial slick and 60' at 1.29. My best 60' was a1.26

Depends on power but mid to high 1.2s shouldn't be an issues.

Not to hijack the thread, but with shocks are the front or rear more critical to be double adjustable for a leaf spring car?

1.30s are pretty easily there. Anit roll helps those cars allot. Some use a air bag with success. Quality shocks correctly set up are step one.

Sorry for typo = Full length adjustable Ladder bars.
Cars weight has increased to 3,450 with the bias of 55% front and 45% back. I will give more complete details on parts in the next day or so. Thanks guys, Craig Last edited by CraigG.; 10-09-2022 at 09:49 PM. |
