Question Power window problem 69 convt fb

My rear passenger side window goes down very slow and needs to be pulled up by hand while operating the switch. The switch and wires get very hot. I removed the switch and have continuity on both up/down wires and power on center wire. Any suggestion would be appreciated. All other windows work fine.

Sounds like the window is binding somewhere. I think that would draw more current which would heat up the wires. You may have to remove the interior trim panels to look for the source of the binding. Or maybe the grease just dried up and it needs to be relubricated.

I have panels off and sprayed with lithium grease to no effect. Space is limited to do anything. In order to get the motor out you have to drill 3/4 inch holes from a templet in t he manual. I am wondering how they installed the motor initially. I am having a hard time disconnecting the motor to test it. Going to try silicone spray.

Maybe a bad or corroded connection. I believe the resistance would cause the wires to heat and lack of full current will cause the window to raise slowly.

The whole panel was pre-assembled and welded in as a unit.

Checked motor ground, getting 12.4v. greased all moving with pet. jelly. It made some difference but the wires still heat up. It is hard to tell where it is binding or the motor is bad. I guess the next step is to remove the motor.

If you do have to replace a window motor there are 3 small dimples on the door sheet metal that line up with the bolts that mount the motors to the regulator. You can take the whole regulator out to unbolt the motor or use a hole saw to make the 3 holes to gain access to the mounting bolts then prop the window up and remove the motor bolts. I have done 100s of these in the years I worked on an Olds dealer.

I only found one dimple centered above two lower bolts. The fisher body on 7-32 shows a picture does not look like what I have.
