Okay guys thanks for all of your input I ended up picking up the car for $675 with $50 to tow to my pad!!! I talked to Triple AAA it will cost me $87 to get it registered and pink slip issued in my name!!! SO I am pretty stoked!!
Time to start on my "project"!! |

Has some scratches, the worst is near the top and another about the middle then some scattered light ones, chrome looks good though.

For the original price I wouldn't even have bothered. For $725 at the door, that's a deal even if it ends up not being able to get back on the road.

Steve thanks for "diggin in the barn" as I was cleaning out the car I found the "missing" window underneath a set of power window door panels that came with the car!! On another note I took of the valve covers and the carb, pulling off the valve covers I was surprised at how clean it was and this is on both sides!! The intake manifold had rust on the carb mount area but it looks to be contained to where the throttle blades were located looks as if water sat in there for awhile.
I also pulled the spark plugs and they were all burning correctly had that nice "brownish" red look to them. I need to do some rewiring under the hood it looks as though the mice had a field day with the wiring does any one know where I can get a wiring schematic from for the GP?

74 heads screw in studs, not a junk motor for sure, what's the code on the right front of the block. See if there is a 74 by the distributor hole.
You will need a 70 gp engine harness....LEmme look, not sure if I have anything good. I would expect that if it is a 74 harnesss plugged in to the firewall everything is goofed up. Need to start with the right harness. |

Got to love the California exhaust manifolds...Betcha the bolts actually come out of them....No challenge....

engine code is on pass side of engine block near where the head, timing cover and intake manifold meet. look for two digits like YA or something like that
