I love that vacuum operated tri-power. I hope someone restores that to working order. I wonder what year it was.

My wife walked in while I was looking at the sales prices, and was surprised how much they sold for. Now I'm worried she's planning my demise.

I admit I am no expert on SD-455 TA's but a running engine, complete interior and fairly straight body for 41k. A little less then a 1000 made with one of the best Pontiac Motors ever produced. All the other stuff like finding correct transmission and redoing interior seem minor in comparison to what it is. I think SD455 are only going to go up in value but that is just me. A 79 Y84 TA with 400 4speed are going for this much and much much more.

I see the caveat as how much resto / repair one can do themselves. Farmed out, I think one would be at, or a bit below equity value now. So if a person is going to farm out work, they should buy a car like this because they just really love it. I don't see it as a dumb deal, just not a big money maker at present, being a 4 speed, it should go up nicely over time. Besides, I am seeing far much more money being made in real estate than old cars now

Looks like the estate did pretty well on the cars, just a quick browse through the page looks like they collectively brought somewhere between $240K - $250K.
