Door water deflectors?
Good day.
I'm replacing the windows fuzzies on my Firebird, which means pulling the doors apart. The paper water deflectors have seen better days. I've found some online, but they are special order, and the shipping is almost 3 times what they are worth. Being in Canada can make shipping an adventure at times as well. Anyone ever made their own? What material would you use? Something like roofing felt? Or is it a dumb idea and I should just bite the bullet and order them? Thanks for any advice you can give, Ken

Not a dumb idea but felt paper tends to tear up over time if not flat on a solid surface.
There are universal kits; https://www.rubbertherightway.com/sp...kaAk0lEALw_wcB

That's exactly what I'm after. Unfortunately, by the time I get it shipped to me, it's almost $150 Cdn. Ouch.

Mine are plastic in my 66 2+2. Get some heavy mil plastic and secure with the sticky stuff.

I always cut mine from plastic drop cloth or anything like that. I spray a little Gorilla Glue adhesive on the perimeter of the door and stick it down. Cut to shape, poke holes where you need them. Don't glue the lower edges but instead, tuck that inside the door structure so that any water that gets on the wrong side of the plastic will drip down into the door bottom and drain out like it's designed to.
I just pulled mine recently to replace the door glass and it peeled right off without even tearing the plastic. Almost like low tack tape. Re-glued when ready.

A piece of plastic drop cloth will work fine. 3M strip caulk works well to stick it on to the door, the stuff stays sticky forever but doesn't harden.

I use 3M caulk strip and heavy plastic as well. Works great and easily removed if needed.
