Default Drip rails and trim

Has anyone on here tucked the drip rails closer to the body? This is on a 65 Tempest by the way. Just exploring different ideas to slick the body down and smooth some things out with the overall look. Also considering tucking the bumpers in also. Just curious...

I just cut them off a little at a time and weld them up.

I stitched together the gap between the windshield and door drip edges, and plan to bodywork it up to eliminate the stainless.
