Default Heat Shield on RA Manifold?

On my 1970 GTO driver's side log manifold, there was a heat shield with riser tube to the air cleaner (see pic).

I purchased RARE oversized manifolds to replace the stock logs. Do ram air manifolds use a shield? If so, does someone make one that fits or will the stock one work? Also...how necessary?
