It's not very new - it's been happening here for a while now. When you get these sorts of messages, report it so the moderators can ban them.

I got a pm from the same. Offering the 70 GTO head lamp panel that I am looking for. Fortunately the moderators already had that party suspended and I did not respond.

I got one as well. I have a parts wanted add for a GM M22 gear. This Martins clown replied with "You can contact mike,he has GM M22 Muncie 1st Gear for sale in good condition Here’s his email phelpsmike01@gmail.com." I didn't reply to that e-mail address since I noticed that the member was suspended but just wanted to add to this thread since he tried to scam me as well.

Send all extra money to www.bird72PYscamforbucks.com. I will send you rare and priceless Pontiac parts in return.

Seriously, thanks to Admins for policing these modern version of pickpockets.

I'm thinking newbs with zero posts ought to be prohibited from sending
PMs. Like probation, they need [X] posts before the feature is unlocked?
And a lot of them are advertising, just not openly (think search engines)

This has been my experience with other forums, where you must establish a presence before reaching out to members.

Here's another case where if you see this sort of thing, please report them - it's the fastest way for the moderators to deal with them. If they haven't made any posts, we probably won't see them otherwise.

Be careful what you wish for? This list only goes back to the start of the month.

Well, that was tedious but they've been taken care of. Did all those people try contacting you via a PM, or did you search through the member list to find them?

No contact, searched by join date. Just think how fun that would've been without links. But seriously, talk about going the extra mile.

It is kind of a game of whack-a-mole. There's an infinite number of spammers out there.
