Upper radiator hose
I purchased an upper radiator hose for my '74 T/A. This is part number FP243. These hoses all have to be trimmed at the radiator side for proper length. After trimming my hose down to the part number itself, it is still not the proper length. I compared this hose to the hose that was previously on the car (not the original) and the new hose appears to not be shaped quite right. The old hose fit perfectly. This one wants to mildly kink when attached to the radiator. It appears the new hose is slightly too long in the straight section from the thermostat housing before turning the 90 degrees to the radiator. Also, the stamping appears to be too close to the radiator end because more trimming will be needed and I am already at the part number. I have been in contact with someone at Ames on this issue.

I have the EXACT same set of problems with an upper hose I bought from Ames for a '67 GTO with p/s. Too long in the same section, part number at the upper neck if trimmed back, and will be kinked regardless. Same hose with different number stamping?

Did you contact them about it? I bought the same hose from them back when I restored my ‘71. The ink stamp is further back and the hose fit better.
