Default Now that the PF24 oil filter is discontinued....

What are you guys using? I'd rather not use the Fram PH25 and the AC Delco PF61 may fit but it seems like it will only have half the capacity.

If you have room for the full size filter, the NAPA number is 1258.

https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/FIL1...wordInput=1258

The WIX number is 51258. Never had a problem with either brand.

https://www.fleetfilter.com/filter/51258.html

Some guys like a Baldwin B39.

Don't know where these can be found for a decent shipped price, unless it gets a free ride with a much larger order.

Use PF 30’s. I’ve got a ton of the 30’s.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Who wants to use a 50 year old filter?

Of the readily available spin on filters, the WIX or Baldwin B39 is your best bet from a quality perspective. However, this Ebay seller has recent issue PF24's, but not really cheap..

I’m going to cut open a old nos PF 30 to see how it looks inside.
I see the Baldwins on Ferraris all the time, must be a quality filter.
If your worried about using old filters, I know a collector that still has the oil filter on a couple cars installed at the factory.

I have a few 1977 dated PF30's on the shelf. I am curious if the paper media is brittle.

I've been using recent production PF24's, I just like the blue color and the correct looking size, I hate the look of some orange or whatever aftermarket filter on a nice stock looking engine. I'm good for a while because I coincidentally bought a few cases last year.

I would just paint the replacement nowadays. doesn't have to be perfect from a distance.

I picked up a case rite before my mechanic retired. Picked up a stack I’d TH 350 filters from GM, also Gas filters, and a few charcoal canister filters.

Are you sure the PF24 has been discontinued? I remember a number of years ago that someone posted the same thing and I went right out and bought what was on the shelves. Parts guys back then thought I was nuts because they were going to order more. As I said that was years ago and now it’s being discontinued again?

Yes the Napa gold filter is fine. Also good luck with Baldwin.
