Default Ground straps 1973 Formula

Hi Guys!

I am trying to figure out where the ground straps go on my -73 Formula. Only ground strap kits I find are for 67-69 Firebird, but I bet the 73 are supposed to have some as well. Any Idea where the straps go, and where to find a kit? Txs in advance, KEE Norway

Back of Pass side head to firewall has a strap, and if you have a black wire with a ground tab by the Brake booster, that gets grounded. I dont think there was ever a 'Kit"

Thanks. I suspected one ground strap on passenger side, found it in the assembly manual. Do you know where I can get one? Or should I just go for a universal one? / KEE

Used ones might be frail, I like the OE looking ones that Napa sells

Thanks again. I will search around if I can locate one here in Norway, if not I'll check with some us vendors.

Top 2 of these would be of use. Im not sure on the trans ground, but it would be long as well as the firewall ground strap. Our Host has these.

Reviving old thread here. I was curious where I took that ground strap from. I just removed the transmission from my 81 TA. Thank you! It went to the frame. There was also a large 1 1/4 washer that looks like it’s copper plated or copper with a 3/8 nut that went on top. Anybody know where this goes it was removed when removing the turbo 350. Any takers.

i have a 81 t/a also & im pretty sure that washer & nut is for the trans mount. i never saw a washer like that before but when i restored the 81 & cleaned up the nuts & bolts i saw that shiny copper washer, i reused it on the mount since thats where it was located on a fairly low mile car. not sure what its purpose is vs a standard steel washer but it looks neat.

Damn why did I not think of that. The copper threw me off. I just had got this car sorted out mechanically and running great! My wife and I drove all the time on nice days. My daughter loves it and even took it to an import show to show them “what’s up” with her boyfriend. (He drove his civic). Of course dad breaks the transmission. Lol.
