Anyone know how the restoration on the Jeanie `69 FB is coming along? Any photos of the process?

So if this is not the car, is its whereabouts known by folks on this forum? If thats the case I certainly understand the privacy issue, just like the 1969 GTO convertible Frank Sinatra gave to actress Mia Farrow, which an editor of High Performance Pontiac was following several yrs ago until he suddenly ceased the pursuit without another word.

However, it would be VERY GOOD magazine material to see both of the cars mentioned.

The whereabouts of the car is unknown. Pontiac never keep track of the vin number of the car when it was given to the show and there are no records to track it down. George Barris did make replica IDOJ kits that were sold to the public.
So to find the original car is slim to no chance.
Anyone with one of those kits could say they own the car.

I would have thought that some record or tracking was necessary for the car. Inventory control, budget reasons, insurance....something would have required that VIN to have been recorded somewhere.

For both sides. You know Pontiac probably wrote it off anyway.

The rear wing on this 69 bird is a Harris creation. There is a difference between the 68 and 69 rear wing. The 69 rear wing had different trunk mounts and did not have the adjustable rod in the center that is seen on the Super Teen cars. Both years were 3 piece wings.

Hope this helps clear up some confusion.

Wow, a 1 year old thread resurrected!

Would be interesting to have seen the pics the seller had. All the links in his posting are dead.

Ok John, I think I have those pics. I thought perhaps there were more (or different) versions of pics.

So was this the same seller from last year? I thought the car sold last year?

No it never sold last year. I am pretty sure it is the same guy. His auction is worded the same as before.
