The Charles Adams car was actually ordered by Jim Wangers. Charles Adams was the "Adams" in the advertising agency McManus, John & Adams out of in Bloomfield MI, the firm that Jim Wangers worked for, and of course Wangers was the account executive for Pontiac. Charles Adams asked Jim Wangers to order up a nicely optioned Firebird for him, and Wangers filled out the order form for a Trans Am convertible. The McManus, John & Adams agency was sold off a few years later, and Charles Adams retired with his family to the San Francisco area, taking the car with them.

There has been what I think is incorrect info out on the Adams Trans Am. After the Brothers bought the TA from Adams we asked him about it. Here is a statement he made regarding it.

FBird69, if you were in the Detroit area at that time you should have known or seen the hardtop 69 RA IV auto that was owned by Barry Martin at that time. He had it up to about 90-91. I'm not sure the exact year but at the time he sold it the prices were going up what seemed like daily. Being a RA IV car it was fast. During the 85 nats that were held in the hotel just down from the ,,, I don't remember what the name was but it was a baseball field or a football field there , but he came up to see me & my wife at the time & had been out street racing it. Yes it was an original RA IV car but he did what everyone should do with the Pontiac, he drove it & drove it hard. He sold it to a guy also in Detroit to I think???

Barry bought the automatic IV TA in 1984 from none other than John Davidson out in California, it was one of two 69 TA's he bough from John. I believe after Barry it went to Buffalo, then Hawaii, then was listed in Hemmings & went to a doctor in New Jersey, then back to Buffalo, then to Phil Silva, Zeb Morris....it's well traveled.
