I'm doing '96 TA seats for my '69 Bird, and I'll redo the back seat to match. I picked up a 1947 Singer Commercial and 16 yards of vinyl. I'm eliminating the head rests and the plastic trim on the back and sides as well as the lumbar support. I owned 3 4th gens and the seats were very comfortable.

When I call to order I'll see if I can delete the logo and I'll let you know.

Cool to see this thread get revived…even has some added drama, with someone trying to throw shade. (Thanks for that wonderful contribution 65madgoat.)

An update from me - I ended up ordering the TMI “low-back” seat with the headrest. (And opted out on the grommets I referenced in the first post). Figured the head rest looked more correct in the GTO.

I placed the passenger side TMI seat in with the old driver seat in, for comparison/reference. Currently the seats are out of the car for a Vintage Air AC system install I’m trying to finish up.

My observations:
The TMI seat is LOWER than the Pontiac bucket seat (see photo).
I wish TMI’s head rest was about 2-3” “shorter, little too tall in my opinion.

Overall, I feel like the seat doesn’t really look “out of place and am satisfied with the purchase based on appearance alone. I haven’t had any seat time as the car has been down with other updates since I got the seats. But they did “test sit” pretty well, so I’m optimistic!

Those look very nice! I agree that the headrest looks too tall. I'd be tempted to take them to an upholstery shop and see if they can cut them down, and maybe even shape in that teardrop shape of the original. Bring the original for reference.

Very good looking seat though!

I think the seat looks good. FYI, they do make a lower profile headrest:

I took the plunge and ordered the seats. I got them with the logo delete. Unfortunately, that is not a free option. It was $335. I thought that was pretty steep. I almost didn't do it but I didn't really want the logo so that's that. Also, now was a good time to order because they are offering a 15% discount through 3/20. That offset the logo delete cost. 4-6 weeks for delivery.

I also ordered a set of front seat belts from Morris.

From what I’ve seen, TMI regularly runs discounts and sales, so that’s nice I guess.

Wish I’d known of the mini head rest before… not sure I’m willing to pony up $400 for a headrest. Sheesh.

Maybe call them. If you're stuff is new maybe you can exchange them?

Good info & nice pics .
Yeah I remember that now about the big charge to “not sew in” their logo. Crazy

They do look good though! I’m reeeeeealy considering the short headrest, leather / suede combo with grommets & of course no logo 😎😉
