On a '67, there shold be an insulated stud on the back of the tach, that goes to the -side of the ignition coil on a points ignition, TACH terminal on a HEI cap. The body metal of the tach should be grounded to the dash metal and the gauge metal to the dash metal.

If it's the Ignitor, should make no difference. Ignitor II, it should work, but check the calibration with a known good tachometer such as an aftermarket unit. Late model aftermarket units work by measuring signal transitions, the older OEM tach may be sensitive to the coil waveform and need recalibrating.
