" ROLL CALL "
Alright Cammers here is your chance to show off your OHC machine. Post some pictures of your car/engine/project and include some details and the story of where she came from and how she became yours. Let us know where you are.
Marc Frisco TX 1969 Firebird Sprint Convertible Hood Tach / 3sp / Deluxe Decor/ Blue on Blue w/ White Ivory Top My father bought this car brand new for my mother on April4th 1969 from Neely Pontiac in Decatur IL. They were looking for a safer car since they had me and my little sister. A fast little Pontiac convertible was the answer LOL. After many years of gentle driving (it was my mothers car) it sat in storage after 1977 when my parents were in divorce proceedings. During that time until 1986 in was stored during the winter and rainy seasons in IL and brought out for a few months to enjoy during the summer. I acquired the car in 1991 and started to restore it. |

My '67 convertible cammer was acquired from an uncle in 1998 for the princely sum of $1.00. It had been stored in a 3-walled shed since 1977 due to an aborted engine rebuild. I brought it to the city and was able to start on it in 2005 as a weekend project.
It is a numbers-matching car and as the photos show has been a nut-and-bolt restoration. I would say it is currently 90% complete and am anxious to get it on the road. If not for the knowledge, wisdom, and help from the great members of this and other forums I wouldn't have dared attempt such a task, and to all I am greatful. |

Chris, I forgot you had that one as well. It would really look awesome next to my bad black 68 Pontiac as well.
I'm now a member of Cammer's anonymous having replaced the non-original Cammer in my bird with a 461 beast. I am keeping the Sprint emblems on the rocker panels as a tribute to my original '68 Sprint Firebird, Phoenix. The Cammer went to a great home and will be used to resurrect an original 68 red Sprint Firebird. |

They would look great together Bill, Black with chrome front & back is a nice combo.
I bought mine intending to use the interior for my RA II GTO and then harvest whatever body bolts & other items I needed in it's restoration.....but it's really too nice of a car to pull apart. I love the redlines on it it.

I washed it and put the rims/tires on it that I had picked up in RI. I haven't even vacuumed it out yet. It could use a carpet kit, and fix the vinyl roof in the back - then it would be sweet.
That's why the "Unloved, unappreciated, forgotten & neglected".

Here my OHC Sprint 4 speed, it's a Fitch Firebird. Came loaded with with options, tilt, wood wheel, AM/FM, deluxe interior, rally gages, hood tach, console, full spare, posi. Plus the Fitch pieces.
Boss, it spent it's early life in your neck of the woods, (SAndy Hook, Newtown, Ridgefield, Danbury, 1967-88) until I bought it. |
