Default 1967 Le Mans fan question

I have a 1bc ohc motor I put in a 1967 Le Mans. I used a v-8 4-core radiator with all the brackets from that car. The fan was on the motor when I got it assuming it was original. The fan tips almost touch the top tank edge. I checked the front sheet metal alignment seems like everything is lined up. Thought support was bent straightened that according to measurements from another car we have that was not wrecked. Ultimately my question could I have an A/C fan with a non A/C radiator because the fan seems too big in diameter. Or is the top radiator bracket ohc specific.

Post OHC radiator cooling fan

The standard fan blade for an OHC 6 is a 4 blade unit, while the A/C version is a unique 7 blade. It took me a few years to find the 7 blade A/C version.
I have both at my shop, and could supply photos on Monday if needed.

IIRC the OHC LeMans/Tempest came with a three core radiator. My FB has a 2 core. Your radiator may be too large?

The A/C fan also had a notch in the inside part of blade to clear the PS pulley.

Ive had a few radiators and fans ruined by this clearance problem.
I finally added the V-8 A/C bottom of the support to put the taller radiator in.

Default radiator

Is this a normal issue? That the radiator is really close from the factory. This is my first ohc car and the motor was out of it and no radiator with it.

could be alot of factors adding to this
bad mounts on motor and or radiator and body
I have a 4 core in my 67 Sprint thats a factory A/C car
but I did this because it was a daily driver that sat in traffic with A/C on,
in the 95deg days we have.

FWIW;

Even from the factory they were set real close to the rad.
Remember no shroud so I guess they thought the closer the better.

Here is a SB from the factory...

Below pic is my '66 with the correct AC fan and she is within the above spec which when first set up I too thought (wow) that is way to close, it looks like a lot of space but that is about 1,1/8th". Also note the notch is for tank clearance...

Default radiator fan

Thank you very much for all the help. The service bulletin was the biggest help. Now to dig through my piles of parts or another trip to the junkyard in the snow.
