Default Old Man Now But “Back in the Day”!

Had a 1968 Firebird 350 HO automatic as a senior in high school (1975). White on black. Ran ok but if it was rolling at 50 mph and kicked into passing gear, then it would shine. Literally wrapped it around an oak tree the first year in tech school. That was the last of my Firebird fun…until this spring when I retired and bought another one. Plain 350 but fun anyway.

My high school buddy had a 1966 Lemans with a 326, 4 speed, and 4:10 rear. The 326 had shaved heads with the old Isky 280 cam, headers, and a quadrajet. It sounded like a AA-Fuel drag car idling. That was an unbelievably quick car. Spanked several 396 Chevelles and other “muscle cars”. We had some fun back then.
