Default 68 400 HO with leather trim

I've read what I could find on that rare option (leather trim), here and on firstgenfirebird and it does seem very rare indeed. But is that really desireable ? A friend of a friend has a PHS documented 68 400 HO bird with AC, leather trim 281, tilt, wood wheel, console, clock, rally gauges, TH400, power disc brakes, power steering, and cruise control.

Anyone has an idea of the quantity they made ?

It seems like it was around 200+ but my mind could be playing tricks on me.
69 used it too and #s were real low like 68 but the colors changed slightly

I may have the number, but if someone could give me the option code, that would be helpful.

I know I have the exact # somewhere but for now the interior trim code 293 comes to mind.

I may need the other kind of code, like L67 if it was a motor.

Also available in 1969, the leather seat option was only available in tan, and only available with buckets, not a bench. It was a mid-year addition in January, first builds in February 1968, and the sales code was 281.

I think I listed the trim code for 69
It was listed as "saddle" in 68 and "gold" in 69 ,both years was only with the custom trim option.
I wish they would have done it in other colors like black.

I have a '68 with the "saddle" leather interior option.
Its trim code 281 - stamped right into the cowl tag.

TR293 is correct for the 1969 Antique Gold.

"Somewhere" is the 1969 Colors and Interiors album, of which mine is missing that page. I think you may have it. If not, it's in a box full of 69 literature here that paul had returned. I seem to recall that I took it out some years ago for you or him.

So this got me thinking that, perhaps, there is no option for the leather interior but, rather, you specify the interior and it was just an extra cost item? Because, then there wouldn't be a special code like I'm looking for.

It wont be in all the dealer catalogs or price sheets was a mid year release.
69 OTOH was a full year option.

So, Cammer, is there another code used in 1969? Again, I'm looking for something like L67. If I have the numbers from the GM Heritage Center, it's the only way I'll be able to find it.
