With 3.36 gears - and a Doug Nash 4+1 tranny - you'd think you had 4.10 gears up through 3rd gear. But still cruise smooth in final gear.

You'd need the Nash shifter too - but can adapt an original handle if wanted.
Just another option.

If you want to go that way, I can give you some info. I installed a Richmond 5 speed (newest version of old Doug Nash 5 speed) in my 68 Camaro. Shifter comes out of factory 4 speed hole IF you fabricate an adaptor plate. Acceleration is awesome. I have a stock 327, first was using 3.08 gears (feels like 3.99 ratio thru the first four gears) and now dropped to 2.73 (feels like 3.54 thru first four gears which is great) and fifth is 1:1, not overdrive, but I have 2.73 gears so low rpms on the highway.

get back to me if you want to know the do's and don'ts of that swap.

Frank.
