Default 77 W72 Pulley colors, Air Cleaner.

I ASSUME ............the PS and WP Pulley is Semi Gloss Black and the Harmonic Balancer Pulley is Engine Color? . Is this correct? I'm trying to detail the Engine Compartment, and would like to see some pics! Also how about the Air Cleaner and Lid? Gloss Black? How about the little bracket/strap that holds the air cleaner duct to the fender? Natural Steel? I would hate for it to get rusty, I bought a new one because mine was missing.

Very nice, thank you. My WP pulley was blue, engine color, I thought that was odd!

Pulleys are like accessories, and part of. They are added down the line when they know what options that car or engine calls for and then added. Blue painted or overspray suggests a touchup or engine paint in the past by someone in complete condition.

Looking through my photos of low-mileage, supposedly unrestored cars, there's 3 finishes the duct strap has. This could vary from year, to factory to supplier. There's satin black, like the engine pulleys and aircleaner base/lid, a silver paint, which looks a little out of place, and a blackened phosphate finish, usually faded to light grey with rust staining by now. None were simply bare metal. Is your new reproduction just a bare strap? I can't even recall what colour mine is, also a repro from 10 years back.

I had to buy a Reproduction strap, its bare metal. I thought of painting it black, then saw pics where it appeared to be bare metal, or silver? Zinc plated maybe? but they had to do something to keep it from rusting.
