Thats what he was stating Ron , the 69 economy 2bbl was the only GTO that could get the economy axle - in 69 .
Here's the invoice on my old 70 (Auto) that had economy axle . In case anyone hasn't seen one yet. Believe its actually the only one i can recall seeing it listed on so far .... |

There was a 69 RA 3 4gear car I looked at buying many years ago That had a special order 3.08 with no posi. No surprise that the car was from a farm town in Montana! Wide open roads!

3 Speed shifter
My car has the 4 speed close ratio trans. I get tired "rowing thru the gears" as someone said. I usually wind out 1st a little farther and shift to 3rd if I'm just cruising around. Don't know about value differential between 3 & 4 but the fun factor would be the same.

My '69 Corvette came with a 3spd and I never really had a desire to change it out. I pulls though the gears just fine with 3.73 gears. I know if I did change I would use a 4spd maybe a newer 5spd?
