Default 1967 2+2 unusual camshaft stamping?

Question. How common are camshaft code variations from established information sources?
I have a 67 2+2 428 360HP auto, A/C, AIR California car, 3.08 gears. It became necessary to rebuild this original engine. The camshaft I removed was clearly marked "9779066" and was stamped "C".
I know that A/C, Automatic cars got a 3.08 axle; did they also get a "066" cam? Did AIR cars get any special parts besides the typical AIR parts? Why no mention of a "C" stamped cam for this year or application?
This car was built the last week of 1966 at the Southgate plant.
Thanks in advance!

Can you post a pic of the cam with the numbers?
Where is the "9779066" located on cam?

Default Here you go!

Hope you can see them. Between the last cam lobe and the rear cam journal, it says "9779" and right below it is "066". on the opposite side of the cam in the same relative position, it says '066".
The second picture shows "C" at the 12 o'clock position above the center hole.
You might to export the pictures in order to enlarge them.

I would guess it's not the original cam?

All cams I have seen from the factory had alpha-numerics on it that usually had something like 'CWC' and some numbers under it.
These were the cam core company castings. The stamped letter/number on the nose designated what the cam was for.
That could be a reproduction possibly or ?

I haven't seen an actual 1967 cam though. Lots of later cams.

Default Original Cam?

I'm stumped too. I purchased this car with 84K miles; the condition of the gaskets, seals, etc., lead me to believe that this engine had never been apart. It even had the original style crappy timing gear set.
The numbers show that the block is the original, per PHS.
I'll look at the cam closer to see if there are any other marks.
