Default console repair kit

How is the repair kit from Ames installed? Does it work?

My lid moves around , does that correct this?

Anyone have pictures of install?

I made my own decades ago for the '67 out of sheet metal. It's held up great. If the rear hinge is bolted solidly to the console, the lid won't walk around. It will just go up and down as intended.

Thumbs up

That's the beauty it's not visible when installed and works perfectly.
I had the same issue over a year ago.

The oe threads wear out with age/use and this plate slides under the hinge mounting location.
It fits nicely and gives support to the console frame and has the needed threaded holes allowing you to re-secure the hinge.
