Default Convertible top colors

The reference sources I have consulted list the available top colors for ‘66 as 1 Ivory, 2 black, 4 blue, 5 turquoise, and 6 beige. My car’s trim tag shows it was built with a code 1 ivory top. Was this top actually white in color or was it some off white shade, which is what the word “ivory” seems to describe to me.

It’s an off-white. If you want a pure white top, it’s called “performance white” I got mine from Ames, (Kee manufactured).

I have a 66 with the off white top. Hard to keep clean. The folding areas get dirty first. I'm planning on changing to black if I can find someone to do it. Might have to try it myself.

Wise words.

My 66 442 looks stunning with a white top - even with constant care it eventually got dingy and grey.
