Default How to test 1970 Gto Air recirculation valve.

Does anybody know how to test the valve located behind the passenger side kickpanel.

It has 2 hoses that connect to it.

I am not sure if they work in conjuction with each other of If the both have their own seperate diaphram inside the valve.

Any help is appreciated.

I do NOT own a vacuum gauge. I am looking for a simple way to test it. If possible

Simplest test is to open valve manually then place your finger on the vacuum fitting, release the valve and see if it holds its position, second fitting was to hold the valve in a position between fully open and fully closed, same test for both. They rarely fail unless the car was in hot dry climate like Arizona.

Thank you so much. I have been patiently waiting and answer. Lol. Have other projects going on so this one was luckily on hold.

Same method for vacuum advance valves on distributors as well as hideaway actuators on 68-69 goats too.
