BW T-10 info needed
I bought a T10 and shifter at a swap meet today. The owner said it came out of a 62 Impala.
Is this a direct bolt-in for my 63 Safari if my T10 fails? Info on trans - WG T10 on main case, date 1-2-62 (assume Jan 62?) tail shaft T10-7d Shifter - Hurst Comp Plus 149366 - I know this is a later shifter. Thanks in advance, James Q

Yes but you will have to fab up the rear trans mount which is different. I have a Chevy T-10 in my '63 Catalina and had to relocate the trans cross member forward a little and had machine an angled aluminum pad to allow the angled trans installation Pontiacs use. This wasn't a big deal.

Thanks John,
Forgive my ignorance, but since I have my original trans in the car, can I swap the tail housing onto the chevy unit and reuse the existing mount? James Q

I think the tail housings are the same length and if so yes you could do that.
