At least you got them now. I ordered oversized Dports last Aug but did the order over the phone so I don't have anything online to look at as far as status or anything.

Woo Hoo, those long branches look good!!!

Glad to see some progress is being made!!!

My buddy ordered his 69 firebird from Viet Nam. His RAIII engine came with those manifolds.

I'm especially glad that all the production hold ups ( and everything that caused it) did drive RARE out of business!!!

I received my round ports last Thursday. I ordered them from a guy on ebay in prescott Arizona. They shipped from Illinois. Paul told me for months I would get a call...never did. Now I need D ports, I guess I'll have to suck it up and buy them from him.

I saw the oversized round port manifolds were available on the RARE website and ordered a set on Friday the 10th. They arrived a week later on the 17th, shipped from Prescott AZ.

The pipe flanges I ordered along with them are laser cut from steel plate instead of the original cast type they show.

The price went up quite a bit.

Maybe the laser cut flanges might give a little more room with installation? I check on the RARE site now and then on the Dports incase i get missed on the notification. You go 3" pipe or 2.5"?

These castings will accept a 2.5'' pipe, There's no way 3'' will fit without necking the pipe down.

Yes, these flanges will allow more clearance if that's an issue.

Looks good! Yeah RARE offers a 3" headpipe,,starts out a 2.5" short stub and is 3" the rest of the way. They have a pic of it on their website.

So there's some people that never got calls. Why the different shipping locations? I will buy from him again but only because he is the only gig in town, he is not a straight shooter... especially for a vet.

I waited almost a year for my 2.5" 2nd-gen D-ports. I've also bought other items from R.A.R.E. that weren't always quick to ship. However, Paul was always 100% honest with me, and the products always exceeded my expectations. Due to the low-volume (and low-profit) nature of his business, he's at the mercy of supply chain constraints, foundries, machine shops, powdercoaters, etc... I don't believe he's out to screw anybody. Every time I called him, I got a prompt response about the state of my order.

If you've ever tried to operate a one-man specialty business, you'd give him a bit of grace. If you think you can do better, buy a truckload of iron ingots and bring something to market.

Default RamAir Resto/ Paul Status?

Does anyone know the status of RamAir Restorations and if they are still in Business? I called Paul at RARE several times over the past few days and the message I get says "The party you are trying to reach is out of service". I did speak with Paul exactly one week ago and he said he was shipping my manifolds that day and said he would send me tracking info. Never received tracking info or manifolds and he did not respond to an email I left on the RARE web site either. This sure does not look right!
