Default 1968-72 GTO vs. 1970-81 Pontiac round port headers

greetings...would like to get opinions on ROUND PORT header fitment.
for 40 years I've been under the impression, headers that fit 1968-72 GTO, also fit 1970-81 Firebird. but that was D-port headers. I'd like to put RA IV heads on my 70 GTO 455 engine. My question is the same as above statment:
does a 1970 Firebird round port header, also fit a 1970 GTO ?
because...lately I'm seeing different part numbers for GTO and Firebird, same year 1970. what's up with that ?
these headers are PRICEY now, even used, so I don't want to buy a header, only to find out it doesn't fit.
all opinions welcome, thanks.

Different rounds port headers for A body and F body for sure. I had a Hedman set of 1 3/4 that were supposed to fit early A bodies and second gens-both sides rear tubes hit my TAs firewall!

70 TA I know Hooker 4202s will fit good. Some will need "clearancing" around the oil filter or lower A Arm pickup.

I have an A-body 70 GTO, thinking of running RA4 heads, and there seems to be quite a few pair of used Firebird 70-81 round port headers around for sale. I was going to try the 70-81 Firebird headers on the 70 GTO specifically, not the other way around. any idea if that would work ?

No idea but the cheaper stainless OBX GTO round ports do not fit a second gen. Might be able to fit changing a couple of tubes. If the OBX are still around they might fit.

That is the brand. They were cheap 2-300 stainless steel round port headers for 68-72 A bodies. Used to be on Ebay all the time.
