Default Air cleaner base 67

I am not having much luck on a base for my Quadrajet install.

My original plan was to use my Ram Air Pan. However I used an edelbrock rpm intake, which sits higher. So the pan doesn't fit.

Special pan needed? Modify one?

I went through that back when the RPM was originally released in the 90's. Go find yourself an original Chevy 14" open element air cleaner and graft the base of that into your ram air pan. Cut the ram air pan just inside of where the filter sits, discard the original center piece, and then put the Chevy base on top of the ram air filter flange and pop-rivet the two together.

What you're looking for is the black base of this:

If you change your mind about the RPM manifold in the future, you can use an air horn spacer like GM used in various applications over the years to get the ram air pan to sit at the correct height again.
