Starts well and runs pretty strong looks to have a very slight oil leak at the passenger side valve cover....covers will be changed out...hopefully soon as I will be "de-blinging" the engine compartment. Gear ratio is not a 3.64 but a 3.42. Car drives and stops like a 62....lol. All and all pretty happy with the purchase. My black 62 project will be up for sale in a few weeks after I go through it to see where it is.
Glad the car is as advertised mostly and you are happy with it. I think you will like the 3.42 ratio with a 4-speed. I like mine as it is a nice compromise between performance and moderate highway driving. Just under 3000 RPM @70 which is fast enough around here for some highway driving. Enjoy that beautiful car.

I sure won't have any trouble spotting you around town, hope to see it one day. I wonder if we've ever talked at a local event. Also interested in details on the project you'll be letting go.

Yep, I'll be driving it around. Can't miss it...lol! I'll let everyone know the details of the project in the next few weeks. Personally I'd like to keep it but the wife.......not so much! I can say right now is that it was a western car and won't need that much metal work. Has a 1965 421 (338hp), 3.23 posi rear gear and a turbo 400 trans. Was an original black car with white interior as well as air conditioning (now missing). Has power windows that worked many years ago but were painfully slow to open/close. I'll be going through it soon with a fine tooth comb so I can provide an honest/knowledgeable description.

Just a comment on riding in a '62 Grand Prix in 1963. Classmate's dad bought a used 1962 triple black GP from a dealer somewhere between South Bay area and Long Beach. The dealer's wife drag raced the car at Lions and our test ride after school had driver, passenger, and three big guys in the rear seat. Kid punched it when the traffic light changed and the tach went somewhere north of 4,000 RPM and our eyeballs were sucked to the back of our heads. Probably a safe bet that is when my love of Pontiac's started. Today we take a rather dim view of the trans, but it sure worked well back then. Also you have to consider my '63 SS had a powerglide and another kid's 390 Galaxy had a three speed that started in second from what I remember.
