Looking for 69-72 Grand Prix SJ
Prefer in the following order:
1970 1969 1971-72 Looking for low mileage, highly optioned car. May consider a J if it's really nice and reasonably priced. Prefer all original, well documented would be a plus. Lookup the car I wish I had seen in time on ebay #171768485510 Thanks to all who reply. Mike |

Mike,
I looked at every completed listing for 69-72 GPs on Ebay and couldn't find the auction number you list. What was the car you saw? |

They remove them after 30 days. This is the car I saw I wish I would have found in time to bid on. It sold for $11,250.00. Still looking...

Mike,
What price range are you looking to pay for one? May be able to help you... |

Well the price I would be willing to pay is relative to:
1) The rarity of the car 2) Number of Options 3) Condition of the car or grade of car 4) Oriiginal vs Restored 5) Location relative to Topeka, KS (Cost to have shipped) 6) Color And I could go one and on. I prefer an all original, low mileage, loaded car, but will consider all that are presented to me. That said, the car shown above, I would have gone up to the price of a #2 even though I would have personally graded the car at a 2- just because it is identical to the car I had when I was 17 Never the less, tell me what you have or know about. I do not have to take out a loan to purchase the car, so that is not a factor. Thanks, Mike |

Mike,
I too prefer original, low-mileage, well optioned and unrestored cars. Finding all of that in one basket is not easy. The car above that sold on ebay was not in that category, but it was a fair price for the car. I understand that many factors determine price, but to have an idea of what you want to spend would be helpful. Email me direct if you'd rather... grantprix@comcast.net |

Three GPs coming up for sale in NJ, 69 warwick blue bench seat, 72 light green restored, 77 gold all pretty nice rides.
69 and 72 $12000 each, 77 going on EBAY $8500 WIll get more details later, he probably would do a package deal. ALso has a 76 Caddie and a 79 ranchero. $8500 each I"ve seen the GPs and they'd be worth it. I htnk the blue car was repainted and is in process of getting bucket seats, but not sure. The other 4 are ready to go. KV Last edited by Keith Vrabec; 04-03-2012 at 10:43 AM. |

Hi Grant,
Thanks for all your help. I have not yet found what I'm looking for. I noticed Andy has his car up for sale now. It is so tempting, but is at the top of my budget plus shipping cost. I'm also thinking that a 71-72 would be better suited for today's gas. Bottom line, the two you have told me about are still on my consideration list, but am hoping to find a car that is still all original and highly optioned with lots of paperwork. Maybe even an original owner car. I know I'm asking for a lot. But if it pops up, I have the money on hand to purchase. I have been looking high and low every single night. Pity there are not more to choose from. And if the right car pops up that's over my budget, well, I have a little more stashed away if needed. If you think of any others be sure to let me know. Thanks, Mike |

Any good pictures of the 69 and 72, options, etc? Looking for rust free though and being from NJ gives me pause. Let me know... Thanks, Mike |

I haven't come across any other SJ's that I would consider for you. Would you be open to a Model J as well? Very true, the '71 & '72 are better suited for today's pump gas, especially here in CA with our crappy gas. I'm finding out that my '70 with the 455 seems to run well on pump gas, probably due to the slightly larger combustion chamber heads. Seems to be more "gas friendly" than the '69s that I've owned in the past. I'm sure the car you want is out there, patience is the key to finding the right one. GP's like you want just don't change hands very often and it may take some time to find what you want. Will do... |
