Looks like a great deal - does it run and drive as it sits?

Somebody needs to buy this car!

It does run but it's been sitting so I would want to do some maintenance before I put it on the road.

As you probably know, in 1967 the VIN is not stamped on many of the engines. Since this is the engine that came with the car, it may be original but not positive. Unless there is another way to verify?

The early 67 GTOs included an engine unit number that is under the letter code on the front of the block, that same number is listed on the PHS billing history. Mid year in 67 is when they started adding the VIN to the front of the block at the same time they relocated the casting number from the dist. pad to behind the #8 cylinder.

I read your information and looked at the picture of my engine front and I don't see any numbers. I am not sure what this means.

Tim,

Your car is really a good price being a documented HO car and I am not trying to discredit your ad, here are 4 of your pictures where I circled information to help you identify whether the motor is original to the car.

The first picture shows the build date of your car being the first week of April, 1967;

The second picture is the build date for the heads which is October or November 03, 1966, (I believe (I) was not used in 67 date codes) these are early production heads, I didn't see a date code for the block which should be on the distributor pad with the 6133 casting number.

The third picture shows the engine unit number stamped on the block for early 67 engines.

The forth pictures shows the engine unit number which should match the number stamped on the block and the invoice date matches the data plate build date;

Good luck with the sale!

I am aware of the dates on the car and the engine. That is why I have not said the engine is the original engine in this car. If someone wants a PHS documented 67 GTO with the HO engine option, this car meets that criteria. The ad does not state original engine. It states PHS documents showing this is an HO car.

If people want to look at the good points they will find this to be a good deal:

67 GTO Hardtop
400 HO option
4 speed
Buckets
Console
Tyrol Blue
Parchment interior

The interior is decent,
the body is mostly solid except where stated in the ad,
the engine that is in the car runs,
there is an HO engine that comes with the car,
there are extra parts that come with the car.

All this for $9,999.

I think 67&05gto was trying to help what seemed like confusion on how to identify the block.. But since you are aware,
Just saying the HO engine is not original to the car but the correct year would have been a clear approach...

great optioned car at great price - bump for a GTO sale guys!
