Post #1 of this thread:

The village where I live has come down on me for having an unlicensed car in my backyard and I'm saving the complete drive train out of it for myself (engine, transmission, rear axle and subframe).

The reason I'm keeping the drivetrain:

I built the engine (1972 455, ported 6X heads blueprinted mild street cam and a T400, Hooker headers and a custom 2 1/4" exhaust with a 87 Buick GN crossflow muffler, W/3.23 posi rear) for a friend of mine in 1988 and when the body got so bad that it wouldn't pass PA inspection I inherited the car. My friend has since passed away and although the car is too far gone to bring back (at least for me). The heart of the car is the drivetrain which will be transplanted into a 1986 GP that will built as a period correct street driven NASCAR Winston cup car (see my signature). I will paint it reminiscent of my previous dirt track GP with my old number on it and dedicate that car to his memory and his name will be on the car.

So far the shaker and air cleaner assy is spoken for, the 2 spoiler ends, and torque rods for trunk lid. I had another visit today from village officials so anyone that wants parts the time is growing very short and I'm guessing early to mid next week the car is getting scrapped. Last call for parts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you get a chance to check out the rear window INTERIOR moldings (around package tray and window)? I'm still interested if they are in decent shape. I'm not concerned about being faded, just in solid shape.
Thanks,
Greg

Instead of putting the nylon retainers back in them they screwed them onto the door with metal screws so I doubt you'd want them.

It's soaking in penetrating oil, I'll work on it more this weekend.

You do know those are aftermarket tops, not Hurst or Fisher brand? I have no idea how that stainless is on there but if you want it I will look at it tomorrow and I can take pictures of them, just wanted you to know they're not factory tops. The latches would need work too as the adjuster bolts with the rubber bumpers are broken off. If your interested I will be happy to take pictures as the whole reason I put the ad on here is so people can get everything off the car of any value before it gets scrapped.

I actually had forgotten you asked for pics as I have about 100 PMs I've been trying to sort through of people that wanted me to check condition of parts and take pics of parts. Just an oversight on my part is all.

I am aware they are C& C tops. Mainly interested in the driver's side.
