Good Looking '70 TA Stick on Ebay
Great Photos anyway. Appears to be a pretty honest car, but I have a lot to learn...

That is a very good looking TA!
I wonder about the 'custom' seats but standard dash pad. (windowsticker doesn't show custom interior) Also sticker shows tape player but none in console. Still wouldn't kick it out of my garage.

OK, my question, how would you restoration experts have fixed [pre painting] the nose/hood mismatch ? Has the hood been bent or should the nose have been built up to match ? Curious .

The ride height / stance looks about perfect. One of the best I've seen. Good looking car, but a few critiques:
Could be the lighting, but the Lucerne Blue looks too light / milky. As mentioned, was originally a standard interior car, but now has (repro) deluxe seat covers & door panels and interior color is off. Driver's quarter MAY have been replaced, but I don't know exactly when the changeover started. This is a 4th week of April car, so it may have had one of each from the factory. Rear body panel looks like it may have been replaced as well. Again, good looking car. I would own it. Just some constructive criticism...things to ponder if considering purchasing. |

I'd start by getting a different nose just to bolt up to see if the mis-match is with the hood or the nose. Kudos to the seller for doing a nice job with the photos. If I were in the market, they tell me all I'd need to know.

I don't think the gauge bezels should be chrome in a standard interior ta.

Temp and fuel gauges are incorrect, temp should read 210 in the center and 250 to the right. Fuel gauge should have red between quarter tank and empty. Right rear spoiler end cap looks like it is the later (longer) style and has been trimmed down (badly). Incorrect inner quarter trim panels. I wouldn't kick out of the garage either.

To the best of my knowledge Chrome bezels came on ALL 70 Trans Ams and carried over to early 71.

My 70 with deluxe cloth has black bezels and I don't have any reason to believe that they were changed.I've had it since 84. It is an 03 C build from the LA plant.

My old 70 trans am had black bezels as well, and I believe they were original to the car. I don't know why, but it seems some came with chrome and some with black. I prefer them chrome myself.

If they had Black bezels from the factory it was a mistake IMHO. By the late 70s the chrome on my bezels had deteriorated to the point that I painted them black. Again this is just my opinion and it isnt changing . I have since put them back to original

The chrome on my bezels was so faded they looked black. There were only hints of silver on the bottoms.
And speaking of chrome bezels, I see Parts Place is selling them. Any feedback on these?

I've seen lots of original '70 T/As that had black bezels (and not because the chrome had faded). No real rhyme or reason, but incidence of black ones seemed higher on the earlier cars.
I assume it was Pontiac's intent that they all get chrome, but maybe they had supplier quality issues or something, and had to go with black on occasion.
