Default De-ice question

Car: 1967 GTO with factory A/C.

I just resurrected my A/C in my GTO. All the factory components are there and the air blows cold.

When I select De-ice, is the compressor supposed to kick on? Mine does not.

Check the owner's manual, or perhaps the service manual.

I'd expect the A/C to function in De-Ice/Defrost. Dehumidifies the air before being re-heated to clear the windshield.

Good gravy. What a super idea. Qball, you dope.

Looks like de-ice is for exactly that, de-icing. Not de-fogging. No A/C function with de-ice. That stinks.

Sometimes we all need to take definitions more literally!
