Default Washer bottle question.

Someone in the parts wanted section wants a 70 bird washer bottle, cap, and bracket setup.

I went and checked and I've managed to acquire four bottles. I'd like to help this member out but don't want to sell off a bottle that I need for my cars.

Two have just 3961557 embossed on them (one has V-6 on the bottom and the has V-7). The V-6 and 7 are probably the version numbers as I compared the bottles and the V-7 does not have a cast in rib on the back and V-6 has it. The attaching bracket interferes with this rib so It's obvious why it was removed.

The other two bottles have 3961557 with a Doonlee (sp?) logo and MADE IN CANADA on embossed on them with the number 1 below. Both have the rib that was removed in V-7 above so I'm guessing that the 1 on the bottles indicates version 1 of the bottle design.

So the question is... which is correct for a 70 firebird and which is correct for a 71 bird?

The 369 part number prefix indicates that the part was probably a chevy bottle that was picked up by pontiac later. Thus the bottles usage in production might have started before the 70 firebird line ramped up.

Hey Rob-

I know 1970 used this style, the early styles were squared off on both bottom corners, the later styles had a 45 degree angle on the corner where the steering hoses were.Parts Place now makes the correct early style bottle. Plus the washer bottle caps had the tube port in the center not coming out at a right angle. Personally, I have never been able to clean one of these sufficiently and think the PP repo of the early bottle is good enough..Pretty sure 71 also used this style, but not sure..
