Hey Paul,
I just looked thru around 50 records and of everything myself and a couple other people have documented, There is a Silver/Black Vinyl/Black RA III Auto PHS certified GTO with a delivery date of 12/18/68. Other then that everything has delivery dates late in the season just as you state.

You could order a 68 RA car up until the very end of 68 production. The only real change was the RA system itself. I wonder if there was a delay in production due to parts not being available?

The Dec 18, 68 built RA car you mention is definately the only 69 RA car I have ever heard of made befor the beginning of the 69 calander year.

There must be a reason?

I understand your point , PaulatFast, I'm just excited about spring and if I could order a 69 Ram Air car right now, I think I would.

Geeto Tiger,

I am not sure as all I have in my notes was a partial vin, color combo, ship date and state it was sold. If you know of this car I would love to get more info on it for my next project of a 69 Ram Air GTO Registry.

If anyone has a 69 Ram Air GTO or has any PHS paperwork on a RA car and would not mind sharing their info I would really love to hear from you. On top of my 69 Blue Judge registry I have been keeping track of all RA cars I come across for many years now and have been working on building a data base just like I have for the Blue Judges.

Thanks,
Tim

Default ra cars

A friend has a Mat red on red RAIII 4spd Conv, I know of a verdo green, loaded 4spd RAIII conv that was local. I also saw a 2 tone liberty/crystal blue 2 tome hard top RA III 4spd that was a very nice 1 repaint car that was fairly local to me but sold about 10 years ago, wish i could have bought it. The owner helped me out with some like new int componets for my 69 judge. FWIW Mark

Dancolkate,

I think I saw that car after you sold it. A guy came by my house to pick up a Challenger I sold, and that copper RAIII was on his trailer. It had a really nice Parchment interior, and the motor was out. Body was really nice. I wanted it.

I checked the build dates of four other RA non/judge 69 over the last few days...
02D RAIV Convert
04B RAIII Convert
03B RAIII HT
05C RAIII HT

Also got a lead on a 69 RAIV 4 speed Judge Convert while asking Q's... one of five if it pans out, supposedly very rough but complete. Probably another Lemans with 350.

Slow,
Was he headed for Chicago? The interior was very nice. The body was ok, but not great. It was a New England car it's whole life. Sold it with the matching engine and muncie and carb . I'd love to know if the guy is done restoring it, and if it's back to the original color with the vinyl roof. I'll bet there were very few Mayfair / black vinyl/ parchment / RA3 4 speed non Judges built. I recall the guy owned a Pontiac dealer in IL and had a good collection of GTO's

Don't believe I've ever seen a silver car with parchment interior. Bet that is pretty sharp looking with the black top.

I have a '69 GTO HT parts car that was originally Palladium Silver with Parchment interior & Cameo White painted top. Plus hideaways, A/C and wire wheels.

Hey, I've been looking since I got the PHS on my car in 2005 and have only found one silver/parchment combo and it's a convert. It can be seen on the UltimateGTO.com site. My car was green/green when I bought it and since then have spent the last four years gathering all the optional equipment that was missing. I think I have a fairly rare car with it being a coupe with R/A and the colour combo and being owned by pontiac from Feb/69 untill sold in Jan/70. All the body work has been done and should be repainted this summer. This is a great site for getting bits of info and stats on what is out there. It's amazing all the diff. combo's. I guess back then "you could have it your way".

Thanks for telling me about some other RA cars everyone as that helps. If you guys by chance have the PHS and would not mind sharing please email at ramair69gto@sbcglobal.net as that helps fill in everything on my spreadsheet the best.

All I have to say is WOW, I bet Silver/Parchment is a beautiful combo as I honestly have never seen that.

I have a 69 RA III convertable that is currently red but was originally liberty blue (I think I may go back to it when I have it redone one day). It has a black interior and top and no hidaways. it's also an automatic and didn't have the original engine when I purchased it. I have the documentation from PHS but it a rough copy (they said the microfilm was in bad shap) from years ago. I've never really looked at the build sheet but you guys have got me interested. how can I tell when it was made? The date of execution on my sheet says 01/09/69 but I don't know how that relates to the build date...
