I plan to go with (Joe) VA68Goat and another member - all first timers. Likely arrive Thursday night and leave sometime Saturday. Any suggestions for which towns to stay in or avoid? We will have our own transportation and looking at Air BnB type properties...

We will be spectators only, fwiw

Norwalk is where the Cedar Point Amusement Park visitors flock to for motels/hotels. Their peak season is about the same times as AMES. The rates are jacked up because of that. Better get your reservations quickly!

So yesterday we booked a small cottage in Huron and we also reserved a golf cart for our old bones.
