it needs to be repainted bad. its got some small bad spots. but overall in good shape. So we are going to wash it inside and out, c what we got and then rip the interior out of it and start the wiring. it came with a spare original lemans hood and trunk. not sure whats the difference between lemans and gto trunk? but i will probably be selling them. Whats a good asking price? $5000 lol

It has a chev 396 from a malibu/jury is still out on that. i haven't been able to investigate that. but it has the th400 with the dual gate shifter. the interior has to be all redone seats, carpet, headliner, dash and the wiring needs to be gone through. and then we can see if she fires. Hopefully The intirior is all there. just never looked like it was taken care of since 67. He did give me two racing bucket seats with the leatheresx covers. so if anyone want those. make me an offer. I work with a guy that has been making custom seat covers for the past 15years. But since he moved hasn't had any business, so he has been dieing to make some more. So i might give him some business. lol. But my first concern is wiring. The car came with a fairly ontouched wiring harness from Painless. So that will make this a whole bunch easier.

He had removed the battery tray from the engine and was planning on putting it in the trunk. Any thoughts. It sure makes the engine bay a whole lot cleaner looking. even though it needs a good fresh coat of paint.

ok i am trying to decide what i want to do with the car. i am trying to figure out the original color. but i am having no luck figuring out the data code plate info. Maybe someone can help me. TR 214 A Below that is W 2AW 4G then on the right side it has 820 BODY and C -C PAINT. What the heck do i have??? I think the car was orignally mariner torquoise becase the door jam was that color. Does that make sense with any of those codes. Thanks

some of the stuff that came with the car plus the cowl tag. I will take a pic of the door jam and you will see what i am talking about. Ivory makes sense the way the car sits now. minus the top being that torquios

cant make out much from that trim tag pic. i see it was built in kansas city. and the paint codes do look like c c which would be cameo ivory.
mariner turq would be "L" and gulf turq would be "K".
got more pics?

It's got 1966 seats, at least up front, so it's been messed with. '67 seats have a totally different pattern. Original cameo ivory car, for sure. Looks like an excellent, solid car to me. Good going!!!

i was pretty certain that the front seats were from a donor. it looks to me that it was a bench seat originally. If the front seats are from a 66. Structuraly there isn't any difference, correct? Just the seat covers? But either way i don't think it matters. The car is a definate clone, which is ok with me. i don't have that kind of money laying around . Does anyone have good wiring diagrams that they could email me. It has a painless wiring kit started. and i love taking over someones unfinished project, especially wiring. but i am going to try and get as much done this weekend. Maybe i will get lucky. and everything will be where it needs to be and i can then work on the engine. Also has anyone put there battery in the trunk? Thats what i think i am going to do. Since the PO already removed the bracket from the engine compartment.

Hard to see it in these pictures. but the headliner was glued to 1/8" piece of plywood. so i don't have rails thats were originally in there. Any ideas what i can do for that. besides reuse the plywood lol maybe i could spray herculiner in for the headliner.

Default 67 lemans

looks like a great car to start out with, my opinion you need to find somebody local whos into these cars to help you out and start you in the right direction, if the floors, trunk and frame are solid your way ahead of the game allready, go slow, carefully take things apart, lots of pictures and i mean alot of pictures, keep us informed here on the forum, most of us started with alot worse. jd grim 66
