'62s did - on both sides. I suspect the '61-'64 all did and they are probably the same part.

Tough item to find.

Good luck!

Question

I had it in my mind that they only came with the roof rack option???

Right or wrong about that????

This was interresting. I have never seen any rear bumper steps on a Pontiac wagon, except the fold out
bumper step on '69-70 wagons with the 2-way rear door. Does anybody got a picture of how it looks like?

Here's a pair of them on my buddy's '64 9 passenger wagon.

The people I have talked to with them say they are basically not functional at all. With the gate down, you can not make much use of them. I would still like a set if I could find them.

X2. Plus, on '62s anyway, the backup light lens lives right above them...they reduce light spread at night and act as a guide for kicking out the lens out with your shoe.

Thanks for the pic. I did expect them to be bigger. Looks like they only are useful when one need to reach the roof rack

Time to give this a bump....

I found a pair of bumper steps a few years ago....and recently located a 63 Safari rear bumper......with what appears to be factory holes for steps below the back-up lights....

The steps I have......are 2" hole spacing...and rear bumper has 3"....so it looks like I need different steps...

Any input is appreciated...

My ‘63 Safari bumper does not have any holes although there is a cutout. It does not have a roof rack either. I would think that there would have to be some sort of bracket that bolts to the frame as well to make it strong enough. I have never seen one in person.

They are pretty obscure.....Only available on Catalina with 3rd row seat option...

Not available on Bonneville......IIRC....

They bolt to bumper face.....with the fingers supporting them against bumper.... ..which is bolted to bracket and frame.....

All 63 Bonneville wagons are five or six-passenger, so no need.
