Help. Need one. was going to try to convert an antenna switch but they are way too small a switch to do that, likely burn up in one or two cycles of the window.

Cant seem to find the part number for the correct switch, it has a long 3 wire lead to the ribbon going to the rear and a single pigtail to the circuit breaker on the firewall.

any help appreciated

Keith, have some NOS switches but need the year as stated.

If it is a '65-66 wagon you need a switch for you can use a convertible top switch from the same years.

If you find what you're looking for add a relay to save the switch. I'm about to do that in my wagon.

Convertible top switch can be modified to work, but they are different. I forget the subtle differences, but they are different. I used one, but I still periodically have an issue. I think I ended up swapping parts to use the old with some of the convertible guts. Tabs break, and you will have to glue or tape the thing back together. If I figured it out, you will be able to as well. That all being said, also be aware that many times it is not the dash switch but near as I can figure the ground between the door and the body. Dirt & dust builds up, breaking the connection. I have this issue from time to time. If you work the latch and/or push on the cargo door and get it to work you can tell if this is the issue. A little friction is all it takes to get the dirt out of the way. I have not been able to determine exactly where the contact is that fails. Another symptom is that if the key will not activate the window either it is not the dash switch.

There are no reproduction switches available that I am aware of.

Plugs are different but other then that and the bezels being different, will work. 1st picture is PTop plug, 2nd is rear window.

Didn't want to put a relay on it. I imagine the switch has a limited life, with all the amps that go through it.

I got one coming so I'm good thanks for the help.

As for the rear door isn't there a switch back there that interrupts when the door opens? if my door isn't all the way closed it doesn't work. I go and close it better it works fine

Bumping to the top because I'm needing a new switch for my 66 Catalina wagon. Curious where you ended up finding one at, or maybe a suitable replacement option?

The original switch on our '65 Cat wagon is long gone. In its place is a fairly robust toggle switch that is a momentary on-off-on located at the bottom of the dash. Works too good to consider replacing it.

This is actually what I was considering. Just a toggle that resets to off in the center but you can go up and down with it?

Yep. Spring loaded so it returns to center. Someone made up a little L bracket that bolts to the bottom of the dash. Only change I made to the switch position was for some reason they had it going from side to side and that was a pain because I usually chose the wrong direction. Simply rotated it 90° so pushing up had the window go up.

I have an NOS tailgate window switch that was supposed to fit a 61-63 Tempest, but it doesn't. Unknown application. Gm part #4408424. Group 12.195.

Keith, You can use your antenna switch to operate a relay.
