Default Deluxe dome/map light assemblies, why are they so hard to find now?

I am looking for a complete deluxe dome/map light assembly with the mounting bracket. They put these in lots of GM cars (as well as other makes) why are they so hard to find now?

Thanks for the reply chrisp! -
Scott, as far as parts cars go, a couple of things have happened: Changes to how wrecking yards conduct business, and all of the trading newspapers pretty much disappeared to be replaced (initially) by ebay, craigs list, and now to a lesser extent, facebook marketplace, with craigs list and FB being riddled (to the unwary) with scammers and thieves. Ebay has fewer and fewer used parts for sale and is clogged with a lot of garbage - it takes a long time to sift through and filter out the irrelevant. Many people on craig's list just don't seem to know what they have, are scammers, or if they know what they have, price it unreasonably and refuse to negotiate.

Yes, Ebay has done a huge disservice with their crappy search algorithms.
Got a photo of one so we can keep our eyes open?

Nope, this part. The reproduction cast and chrome plated cover with lenses are readily available... It's the guts of the deluxe dome/map light that is now hard to find.
