Well gee an alternate made into the final! Anyone that ran slower then 8.23 was an alternate. Thats what I mean alot of alternates got money, that's why this makes no sense. Got to be some kind of mix up. Damn I broke in the second round to an alternate and he got money.

Guess I should have put my topless, doorless car in the dragster lane and saved you all the trouble.

Is your car doorless?

If you had entered, you would probably have been in for sure.
(if it qualified as open bodied)

George, you ever get a scan of the sheets?

No doors no top... I think it qualifies as open body.

Yea Danny, I agree that's just not right. You were a qualifier as you were one of 16 cars that made a pass in the first round. There 5 other cars that were put in the race too filling in the open body side. I assume if any of them lost first round they didn't get paid either?? That's just wrong in my opinion.

I've seen a pic of it, but always thought it had doors.
(although maybe not usuable)

Usually there are not enough open body cars, so you would have been in even if it ran 13 seconds.

My car has the outer door skin bolted to the chassis, because the car is too narrow to put the bars on the inside and have me fit too.
I didn't even try to run as a doorless car, the real reason I even signed up for the Quick 16 was track prep.

No we didnt get paid for the Q16 which i understand and thought Estep would get it and that would have made me feel better anyway.
Now since you brought it up. We ran a Frantic Four qualifier just so we could get another test run. Then later they came to our pit and asked us if we would come run in the race since they had a bunch of breakage and only had 3 cars. We said sure why not even though it would cause us to miss the first round of qualifier for the Q16. Of coarse we went out first round. When went to customer service we were told since we were an alternate we did not get any money.

Then on Sunday Morning they came to our pit and informed us they going to award us with "Best Engineered car" and told us when and were the awards would be held. We were like so cool all the hard work is being recognized. Well then the car put a rod out the pan next run We get it back in our pit and 15 min. later they come and say that because we oiled down the track they could not give us the award. WTF ever.

I am in NO way saying Johns car is not awesome and very well engineered. It was just a very bad situation. Ok rant over.

thats bs too! it wouldnt bother me so bad if it had said that on the sheet they gave me at sign up. i was so bummed to hear you guys had problems and sure didnt want to get in on your misfortune and i believe you guys know that, but when it says all 16 cars will be paid then pay all 16. 50 bucks at the end of a long weekend following 2 weeks of expenses fixing the car would have made the difference between mcd's (which is what we had) or texas roadhouse. its just the point behind it. live and learn.

I agree, it is not right. I think KRE should pay.

What if you won the race? I would assume they would pay, right?

Who are "they" you refer to in your post?
