I just got the core support bushing in from the PY catalog. Man these are fantastic. I know that they are expensive but I believe they are worth it.

an interesting note about these bushings. if you look closely, you've got a metal cup with a bushing inside and the whole works is rubberized. from what i could tell years back, they installed with the cup side up--which then, after the coating eventually dried out and cracked, held water and of course rusted out. over the last 2-3 years, researching the 70-73 articles, i found a numbber of survivor cars with original bushings in great shape, northeast no less--these cars had the bushings cup side down--no pun intended. seems they were installed either way, those that went in "wrong" lived.

Just eyeballing them they look to be the exact same size as my rusty old originals. They look to be made of hard rubber with a double threaded bolt that runs through the middle. I will take a picture and post.

NW SD how did you do the hockey pucks? Do they seem alright If so, is that a threaded rod through it? Nuts on both ends? Looks like it works fine.

Gordy, actually it was me who did this out of despration. I drilled a hole through the pucks (7/16) & used threaded rod 3 1/2" long, I used the stock nuts & washers (unique to this appclation) They work well however they will not deform in a impact as stock ones do. Rembember they are solid, this makes body alignment much more precise. hope this helps, JF

After all my realignment I now have 3 shims per side on the core support bushings & all my panels align with excellent even gaps!!! mind you this did not come about without a LOT of trial & error & fitting, take your time & use new body shims & bolts if you can . The end reasult is worth all your work trust me. JF

Thanks NW SD mine looks like it was hit lightly on the corner and it shifted the nose over. I'm hoping it will be better once I replace the fenders and correct whatever else is going on in there. I've never had the nose off and am not sure what to expect,
Thanks
Gordy
