Default Installing 69 Firebird rear marker lamps on a 67 firebird.

I need help from my 69 firebird experts. I am trying to install the 69 rear marker lamps on a 67 firebird. I need a template so I can cut the quarter panel correctly. A paper template, a scrap piece of the rear quarter panel, anything that would help me make the right cut, and position the cut appropriately. Please help!! 😎

On 69s there's a fender crease that 67s don't have. Lamp is below it. You'll have to decide where you want it.

Thanks for the quick response. I understand there is a fender crease, I just want to cut the opening for the lamp correctly, and place the lamp appropriately dimension wise with the 69 model.

Can't you just trace the inside of the lamp gasket on a stiff piece of construction paper, then transfer it to the fender?

It’s possible. I just ordered the marker lamp assemblys. Until I see what I am working with, it is a shot in the dark. I only get one shot to cut the quarter panels correct.

Following closely.

I bought my 69 in 1995 and it had replacement qtr panels on it without the cut-outs (they are not Camaro qtrs). Anyway- I traced the pattern from someone else's bird as indicated here but have yet to make the cuts for fear of making a mess - figured I'd wait for when it's time to repaint. How are you intending to cut yours and is the car already painted?

I intend to do a center hole cut, then slowly use a dremel tool to cut the rest. My car is currently painted, but I plan on doing a repaint soon. Do you still have the template you used off the friends car?

Here is a PDF 8.5x11” paper - it’s not as sharp as I hoped
