Default Front Suspension Rebuild

I plan to replace all worn front suspension components in my 69 Firebird 400. It has factory PS and disc brakes. Plan is to R/R these components:

Inner/outer tie-rod ends
Center link
Idle arm
Pitman arm (rare as hen’s teeth)

Aside from the pitman arm, do the commercially available rebuild kits (like PST) actually fit? I’ve read conflicting info on this. I assume many on here have been down this road - which kit did you use? Where did you source the pitman arm?

The car is a spirited cruiser, occasional track runs but I do want an improvement over stock.

I have PST stuff in my steering and didn't have issues with it. That was 17 some odd years ago I did that though.

Just from age more than anything it's probably due again.

This retailer specializes in first gen fbody suspension, and offers a number of USA made oem style products. My only negative is they have a strict return policy, which was in store credit only when I purchased parts for my 68 a couple of years ago.

The steering parts on a 69 Bird are unique and different from 67-68 Firebirds and all three first gen Camaros. When I did the front end on my 69 I was still able to get the ball joints, tie rods and sleeves at an auto parts store. All were US made Moog. The idler arm I found on line, also US made but a different brand( don't recall the name). Believe it or not , I found the centerlink NOS at a swap meet. Unfortunately, I was able to get these parts more than 10 years ago. If I were you, I would try and locate older NOS inner and outer tie rods made by MOOG. From time to time they do come up on EBAY. You should always get new sleeves, they are available everywhere. The idler arm will be harder to find but I believe it's being reproduced. At one time the centerlink was the tough one to get. There are companies out there that will rebuild your original one but I think they are being reproduced now. RAREPARTS should have them. Sometimes you can find an NOS 6 cyl centerlink. They will work fine on a V8 and have a slightly different shape that most cannot notice. On a 69 Bird the pitman arm is a non-wear item and does not need to be replaced unless it is cracked or damaged for some reason.
