https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...4&l=bb59b40d54 https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...7&l=08c55c6177 This is from last fall, when mechanickeith was at my house helping me change the timing chain. I though we were going to just clean it up and pop the new timing cover back on and boom, the man brings a brand-new timing gear to replace the original one! Never know what Keith will do! Well, fast forward to this past weekend, we attempted to fire up the Tempest, which has a freshly rebuilt 4gc and has oil, coolant, an NOS fuel pump, new spark plugs with cables, none of the hoses are leaking, and it seemed all set to go. But problem: the engine would turn and almost fire up but then would kick back and we tried this several times. Mr. Keith thinks it maybe the timing, even though I think he put it on correctly, but guess you never know. Will try again later on this week, we'll pop off the distributer and see if it's off timing...but if worse comes to worse, we'll have to pop off the timing cover, but that'll be a last resort. Could it also be the idle mixture screws on the carb also, maybe they're not turned right? Thanks! Last edited by DeeRock Lemans; 06-10-2015 at 01:33 AM. |
